Why do we love October so much? For thousands of years, people around the world have celebrated autumn with festivals of light, harvest gatherings, and storytelling. Today we carry on that tradition with our own creative twist including pumpkin carving, candy, and of course, ART!

Get ready for a spook-tacular celebration of creativity! San Marcos Art League invites artists and art lovers to embrace the magic of October with our "Eerie Expressions" exhibition—where imagination gets delightfully creepy!  This exhibition is more treat than trick, where artists of all mediums and styles share their creative visions. From spooky-sweet to glow-in-the-dark gorgeous, "Eerie Expressions" is the perfect place to let your imagination run wild!  The exhibition runs from October 7-30 with a special opening reception on October 9 from 7-9pm.

• The public opening reception will be Friday, October 9th, 2026, from 7-9pm (an hour later than usual to find the darkness) at the San Marcos Art Center.
